Abstract |
This study presents the optimal alternative evaluation technique of geodesic dome structure according to the member division and grouping method. To this end, we need the automated computation of joint coordinates and numbering for the consideration of shape change effect. Also, the member resizing technique under the 'constant-shape' assumption and the design variable linking technique for member grouping are developed. Specifically, the optimal design formulation and algorithm are presented through the sensitivity analysis technique and the various example models are applied in order to find out optimal alternative of geodesic dome structure. |
