| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of using in Gwangbok Street, Busan. As one of representative commercial streets in Busan, Gwangbok Street has been not only busy shopping street but also cultural and historical street. From 2005, this street has been refurbished to have new spatial qualities such as new street shape, furnitures and shop signs. After finishing the refurbishing project, the car traffic has been banned on the weekend so that noteworthy changes in using the street have been found. This study intends to examine the very characteristics of using street in weekdays and weekends to suggest some guide line for the similar street refurbishing projects hereafter as well as to understand the relationship between the use and physical settings of commercial streets. |
