Abstract |
In this study, we simulate new nonlinear analysis algorithm, explicit arc-length method, to trace the post-buckling equilibrium path of spatial structures by dynamic relaxation method. The method based on the constant arc-length method proposed by Crisfield, does not require the computation or formulation of any tangent stiffness matrix to search snap-through or snap-back buckling path beyond limit point. The convergence to the solution is achieved by using only vectorial quantities and no stiffness matrix is required in its overall assembled form. The merit of using explicit arc-length method by dynamic relaxation methods, in tracing the post-buckling behavior of spatial structures, are demonstrated by analyzing the numerical verification example. |
