Abstract |
In this study, double window system is suggested as an alternative window system and it's thermal performance was evaluated. Even though, many study show it's benefit to reduce heating loads, double window system's thermal properties are not specified clearly. We assessed the thermal properties of double window system by monitoring surface temperature, cavity temperature, air change rate and heating load. As the results of this study, it is found that double window system have some features as follow. First, ventilation rate through cavity is relatively stable. Second, internal surface temperature of double window system ventilated by cavity changes proportionally to the outdoor temperature. Third, condensation prevention and heating load reduction are expected by adopting double window system. |
