Abstract Recently, for the purpose of reducing term of works and improving performance for construction work, deck plate system integrated with steel wires at a manufactory is widely used in construction field. However, when constructing an underground parking lot with deck plate system integrated with steel wires, corrosion appears on galvanized steel. The corrosion on galvanized steel, which is a nonstructural material, does not become an issue in terms of the structure, but it causes a serious problem in damaging the image of the structure because of the deterioration of the appearance and the increasing repair costs. Therefore, this study conducts research into and an analysis of the current condition of corrosion on galvanized steel through a field survey and literature research aimed at the case in which an underground parking lot is applied with deck plate system integrated with steel wires, and performs an experimental study for the prevention of corrosion on galvanized steel. Also, for the improvement of a corrosion protective property, the study proposes improvement solutions for the corrosion protective property of a deck plate system integrated with steel wires through the suggestion of a design method concerning the junction of a truss girder and galvanized steel.
