Abstract |
With the advance of ubiquitous computing, needs for indoor GIS and/or various spatial services in complicated buildings such as railway station, airport, etc. has been increased. Interdisciplinary researches on Indoor Spatial Awareness have been conducted to cope with. To treat dynamic characteristics of interaction among hardware, software, human, and middle-ware in spatio-temporal indoor space in ubiquitous computing environment, it is necessary to make a bridging system called Spatial Reasoning Platform, which can manage information in an intelligent manner based on Building Information Model(BIM) such as Industry Foundation Classes(IFC). To reach the goal, this research was performed as follows; First, general description of Indoor Spatial Awareness was introduced to figure out which information is needed for. Second, we classified the extended spatial information model(ESIM) into 3-hierarchical layers according to the level of information compositeness. Third, through analysis of IFC, reasoning methodology from IFC raw data to purposeful ESIM information was developed. Fourth, we propose IFC Model-based Spatial Reasoning Platform which can manage various aspects of indoor spatial information. This study will contribute not only to theoretical background of the building informatics in ubiquitous computing research area, but also to broaden the application of BIM for spatio-temporal services in building. |
