Abstract Construction engineers, who are essential as one of human resources for construction project, get assigned to planning, constructing, controlling a project given while each individual is teamed up to owner, designer, supervisor, and consultant through each step of life cycle of the project. Construction engineers are vitally important to the sucess of project, and as construction project is getting more complicated with the scaling up in dimension, human resource management is highly important for the construction engineers to exercise their competence to the utmost delivery of project. This study suggest 5 categories of construction engineers' competence with 21 itemised competence, out of which each of them itemised are compared each other for the importance level and competence level, analysing the differentials between levels. The result out of this study will be able to provide great assistance to the owner, contractor, designer, supervisor, and consultant for evaluating construction engineers' competence including human resource management based on required capability.
