Abstract Sustainable development has been the no.1 issue in architectural society since mid 20c. The top policy priority would be placed on attaining an economic stability and sustainability at the same time. Consumers are beginning to show interests about sustainable architecture and sustainable interior remodeling. Under these circumstances, a rapid growth has been shown in environment-friendly material market since sick house syndrome appeared. In spite of efforts to vitalize sustainable architectures, most of households don't implement environment-friendly interior remodeling. It is mostly resulted from both the ignorance and high price. To meet the need of users with diverse and accurate information about sustainable architectural materials and methods, it is required to figure out consumer's interests and their priority order related with interior remodeling including interior finishing materials and environment friendly performance such as energy saving, water saving, IAQ(indoor air quality), and non toxic chemical. This study researches about the present statics and decision making procedures of interior remodeling patterns and prior interests in the relationship with the general characteristics of users. This study aims to find out the characteristics of individual interior remodeling of apartment and the attitude of users toward Environment-friendly remodeling and finally to encourage sustainable interior remodeling of apartment housing by individual consumers. The results of the research are as follows: ① Functional improvement of facilities is the main purpose of remodeling, mostly about kitchen furniture. ② The biggest reason that prevents users implementing remodeling is troublesome construction procedures and economic matters. However sick-house-syndrome causes them to be interested in environment-friendly quality. ③ In spite of high interest in environment-friendly remodeling, users didn't choose because of high price and uncertainty of the quality.
