Abstract As office buildings are newly being built they tend to become bigger and more protected, the internal heat and air are controlled by a central air conditioning system, which do not allow the occupant to control. In addition, they may cause an unpleasant indoor environment for the occupant. Most of the work conducted inside an office requires mental effort rather than physical effort, which means that the environmental conditions of the work station is closely connected with human wellness. Also, deterioration of indoor environments may cause decrease of productivity due to the decrease of workers' work efficiency, increase of inertia as well as various types of diseases; therefore, it is critical to maintain an efficient indoor environment. Consequently, the objective of this research is to evaluate indoor environments of office buildings as well as to understand the indoor environment’s influence on work efficiency through a subjective assessment and measurement survey of the workers about the indoor environment, and ultimately to realize a comfortable and healthy work environment based on survey results.
