Abstract |
In recent years, 'Dong' offices have been losing significance of their administrative uses due mostly to the use of e-government systems. Nowadays, it has come to the point where some offices are being closed and being converted into other facilities, namely community centers. However, we would like to argue that the conversion plans are insufficient for they fail to bring the locals together into an integrated society. Therefore, we have explored conversion prototypical models from which the locals could actually benefit. The model discussed in this research focuses on daycare facilities mixed with housing units for the care mothers and local students. For the verification of the model, we have applied the conversion plan to an actual 'Dong' office building, to find out that it can be a feasible solution for their conversion plans. |
