Abstract |
The principal subject of this study is to analyze the spatial structure of low-rise collective residential area introducing Siheyuan system in Beijing. This study will take the case of small-scale redevelopment of Beijing deteriorated residential area as the instance. Related territory, road system and housing layout will be analyzed according to the prior researches and field investigation records. Through analysis, it shows that the spatial structure of the modern low-rise collective residental area introducing Siheyuan System is advantageous to territoriality and local community. Also, the analysis of this study can help Korean experts to comprehend the modern applications of the traditional Siheyuan system of Beijing. |
