Abstract |
A successful evaluation of the U-Eco City Testbed depends on proper monitoring. This research proposes an information architecture for urban monitoring based on the digital representation of the U-Eco city. The essence of the representation is the multi-layered structure of the city information architecture. The Cityscape layer is a digital representation of physical urban infrastructure including buildings and urban facilities. The U-Scape layer is composed of information about U-facilities. Finally, the Datascape is the layer about the sensor data collected through the sensing devices of the u-facilities. Our assumption is that, by combining the multiple layers of digital information, it should be possible to represent the correlation and casual relations between the u-facility strategy and the actual performance of the U-Eco city in an intuitive way, so the various users of the U-Eco city will better contribute to the design and construction of the city. This type of representation seems to become important as the visualization of testbed monitoring is not only for the decision makers and experts. Current paradigm of U-Eco city construction calls for active participation from the citizen, and their expert-level opinions need to be well reflected to the planning of the city. The proposed visualization system will be a valuable asset to the overall development of U-Eco city monitoring analysis. Surveys and analysis have been conducted on multiple cases of relevant research works, and critical analysis on the system design has been added to the proposal. |
