Abstract Hotel buildings have been changed to the multi-purpose buildings equipped with banquet halls and conference facilities and cafeterias, which is moved away from the previous simple accommodations. When taking a side view of the prevention of fires, the people using hotels have troubles escaping from initial fire. Because they are unspecified individuals and have no information as to the hotels. Also, the part of guest-rooms in charge of accommodations is constructed with the high sound insulation system focusing on privacy of individuals. so, It's hard to incite evacuations in their sleep. Therefore, the standardized floor-plans of guest-room in hotels are classified into 4 types. The four special first class hotels was respectively selected in this research. Zone model fire simulation, CFast was based on the standardized floor. The result from the simulation applied to building EXODUS, the one of the evacuation simulation programs. The indexes for comparison (evacuation speed, exit flow rate, etc.) based on the result of simulation were selected and analyzed. Through the analysis, we knew that the evacuation performance of the parallel type and straight type is superior to the atypical straight type and crossing type. Through such processes, this paper is intended to furnish the fundamental materials when planing hotel buildings which are able to minimize the damages and protect individuals and their properties.
