Abstract |
As factors contributing to the stability of a structure, there are structural members such as column, beam and wall, and attached members such as parapet, balcony, canopy, awning and cladding panel. Since the upper and lower surfaces of a canopy are largely affected by wind, wind effects should be considered to design a canopy. This paper about the stability of the canopy investigated the variation of wind pressure on the surfaces of a canopy according to the inclination of a canopy to quantify the wind loads on attached members such as canopy and awning. From the wind tunnel experiments, it was found that as the inclination of a canopy varied, the intensity of wind pressure varied. |
