Abstract The purpose of this study is to survey the interior color image preferences for common space of welfare facility for the elderly. Participants were 85 elderly people live in Ilsan. For the survey, 4 kinds of configuration space, such as lobby, aisle, cafeteria, and lounge; and 7 color images, such as natural, romantic, modern, active, casual, classic, and clear, were considered, and totally 28 survey space pictures were used. The results of the survey can be summarized as follows: For lobby and lounge, male preferred highly classic and female did natural. Whereas for aisle and cafeteria, both male and female preferred natural best. And romantic, casual, and classic image preferences by configuration spaces were deferent meaningfully. From the results, it is known that interior color image preferences of residents should be considered during making coloring plan for common space of welfare facility for the elderly.
