Abstract This thesis mainly deals what kinds of works operated by craftsmen in late Joseon dynasty. Uigwes written in late Joseon dynasty show lots of informations about craftsmen. The name of each craftsman was written in the list of reward(Sangjeon) and of working place. And sometimes it shows what kind work was done by each craftsman in the text. As for result, such as carpenters, stonemasons, blacksmiths, plasterers, tilers, most of the craftsmen did their proper working type. On the other hand such as shipwrights(Seonjang), masters of carving(Jogakjang), masters of clogs(Mokhyejang), masters of millstone(Majojang), masters of saddle(Anjajang) did unsuited working type. They did their job with not by craftsman's name but by talent.
