Abstract |
Electric-furnace-slag(EFS) has the expansion, due to the reaction with water and free CaO. So compared with the blast-furnace-slag, the recycling range of EFS is subject to restriction. If the expansive reaction of EFS is removed, it is possible to use aggregate for concrete. This study is the basic properties of concrete used stabilized EFS(oxidized EFS). The EFS is used fine aggregate and coarse aggregate in concrete, and replaced by natural aggregate(sea sand and crushed stone). The replacement ratio are 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. The result of study is that, in basic properties of EFS aggregate, the percentage of absorption is lower and the density is higher than natural aggregate. EFS fine aggregate, used in this study, belongs to N type for specific density under oven-dry, based on KS F 4571. And properties of concrete, to used EFS aggregate, the flowability is increased in proportion to replacement ratio of EFS. But the bleeding is also increased as replaced EFS, especially when replaced EFS-fine-aggregate, due to the heavy density of EFS. The properties of strength, compressive strength and tensile strength, are also increased, and the modulus of elasticity is increased. It is necessary the more study, like durabilities, in order to use EFS for concrete' aggregate. |
