| Abstract |
BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been recognized as one among the major processes and technologies that can enhance the construction productivity through better performance, lower costs, and shorter lead times. In the Korean construction industry, however, the introduction and application of BIM still remains as one among the main issues, and has been only partly realized by several participating parties. To promote the proliferation in the BIM use, therefore, the introduction and application of BIM in the public construction project delivery needs to be driven first of all than anything else. In this context, this study focuses on investigating the current status and trend of BIM that are introduced and applied in domestic and foreign countries. Based on the results, also, the basic directions for introducing and applying the BIM in the public construction project delivery are proposed. |
