Abstract |
Many high-rise buildings have been constructed in urban space for a decade. It is very important to setting up performance based fire protection design by predicting various scenarios. However it is difficult and dangerous to conduct a full-scaled fire and evacuation experiment so fire and evacuation simulators are widely used to analyze a fire scenario. The evacuation simulators have some weak points nevertheless. They are focused on way-finding in plane space of low-rise buildings so impracticable to set up evacuation plans of high-rise building because people should go vertically and repeatedly through the staircase. They are also not enough reliable to reflect evacuees' individual reaction, interaction in groups and physical fatigue in the staircase of high-rise building. Therefore this study re-acted an evacuation situation which had been conducted at a full-scaled high-rise apartment building by using the buildingEXODUS and Simulex. Then a comparative data analysis between full-scaled and simulated evacuation experiment was conducted and can be used for develop the next evacuation simulator only for applying to a high-rise building. |
