Abstract |
This study is to investigate the possibility of reusing H-shaped steel column used in underground construction as structural elements. Hence, experimental works and three dimensional finite element analyses were compared for shear connector behavior with different type of connectors in this study. Based on these results, a newly developed shear connector with U-type reinforcements was compared with traditional stud type connectors. In finite element mode, nonlinearity of steel was model based on plasticity and cracked concrete was modeled based on the damage plasticity model. The bond characteristics between shear connectors and concrete were considered using a surface-to-surface contact model. Experimental and finite element results were well matched each other in shear behaviors of specimens. |
