Abstract The purpose of this study is to compare the anchorage capacity of shear reinforcement for flat plate by concrete breakout method. Tensile strength of stud, bearing strength that considers the bearing area ratio and concrete breakout strength using the design method of the mechanical anchorage - in reference to the Appendix D "Anchoring to Concrete" of ACI318M-05 - is compared. and the new design method is suggested, which is rationally able to reflect the shear reinforcement's moving by comparing the steel strength of anchor or headstud, the pullout strength in tension, and the concrete breakout strength with cone type using the concrete capacity design. After six test specimens according to the V-STUD's anchorage type and two test specimens applied conventional stirrup and studrail are made, one-way slab type's shear strength test is carried out, and the result presents the little difference of suggested design value reflecting the characteristic by the anchorage type.
