Abstract |
Recently, in response to the growing number of people demanding higher standards for residential environment than shared housing. The main contemporary residential type and town house residential type that adopted the long points of single family house is being supplied. This type offers cozy residential environment by solving the shortcoming of apartment that comes with insufficient personal space in high density and maintenance difficulty of single house family house, and providing with higher quality in residential environment. In the case of domestic town houses, the units are in lower level facilitated with personal garden inside with water and green space outside. On the other hand, consider town house is a type of shared housing and mostly planned for nature friendly space type with uplifted ratio of water and green space, it is inevitable that organic association of the inside and outside space with nature is virtually hard to achieve. Therefore, this study intends to extract exterior space planning element for organic space association of town house from Korean traditional architecture theories to proposed town house with organic concept of exterior space types. Nextly, the study classifies the basic concepts of town house space composition which classifies and arranges main unit and private garden to correlation between main units and shared yard to compose the framework of case analysis. Lastly, the research grasps problems of existing town house through case survey and analysis hence to deduces town house exterior space forming methodology in compliance with the organic concept of Korean traditional architecture. |
