Abstract |
This study investigates 837 evaluation sheets of the recent 24 architectural design competitions of apartment complexes for the Korea National Housing Corporation(KNHC) in order to find out some institutional inertia, if any, and to suggest several improvements in the evaluation system. Some findings are highlighted and several suggestions are offered in conclusion. Firstly, the role of the client(KNHC) is important in the evaluation system and many evaluation items are recommended to be transferred to the client's pre-inspection review. Secondly, more detailed feasibility studies should be done by the client beforehand and the results should be melted into the design guide and review items. Lastly, it is encouraged for jurors to remark their comments from a comparative point of view and to put controversial issues to debate openly. |
