Abstract Modern architecture tries to overcome the limit of methodology and sense of values that the existent modern architecture has. Therefore, new architectural design has been enforced and it has showed new aspect compared to the existent modern architecture. This study examined about the topology that is presented as new methodology of architecture in 21st century and presented the alternative for architecture design. Also, this study analyzed about the difference between the existent Euclidian geometry and topology in the application of architecture design and then examined about the position of topology as the design method. In this study, three major aspects are discussed. Frist, the topological concepts just like 'mutation' and 'hybridization' can be applied to design form in architecture. Second, the topological principles just like 'multi-dimension', 'deterritory' and 'topological transformation' can be applied to create space in architecture. Third, the topological dimension just like 'folding' and 'continuity' can be applied to express design methodology in architecture. Topology can be provided endless possibilities for design analysis and methodology in architecture. Therefore the further study of topology should progress synthetically through the basis of the study.
