Abstract Recently, a development of Information Technology took on a new paradigm like automation and ubiquitous environment in all industries. A study is required for the accumulation of construction information including material information to improve the current material management system. Therefore, the aim of this study is to suggest the method of material selection by showing the recommended material list from the system according to usage, quality, and price of materials for room as a unit. To develop this system, we suggest utilizing a Package Service Model based IT. The model provides material package information based on the room. To make this model, the building has to be divided into rooms. All the necessary material lists for each room have to be prepared. During the initial process, the material list is saved onto a database which consist of accumulated information from the other projects. The new material list is added to the database. This study contributes to the improvement of material management by providing a package service which is related to the business of material selection.
