Abstract |
Urban regeneration of waterfront area attracts tourists and provides the citizens with pleasant surroundings, improving the quality of life. The purpose of this study is to deduce the principal factors of space plan for the waterfront areas through the analyzing of the overseas cases that are making efforts to regenerate the waterfront areas before us and the conducting the importance survey of detracted space planning factors on the experts. The research methods are as follows: Firstly, space planning factors of the overseas waterfront areas was analyzed through precedent studies. Secondly, the space planning factors were categorized according to the goal of urban regeneration and the importance survey on the space planning factors which were shown at the overseas cases more than twice was planned. Thirdly, the importance analysis executed through the export survey and the important space planning factors for urban regeneration were detracted. The research methods are as follows: Firstly, ‘environment, access and amenity’ is the most important in the space plan for regenerating waterfront areas. Secondly, the providing of facilities with specific uses properly are important in the factors of concrete space plan for regenerating waterfront areas. Thirdly, The preserving and utilizing of elements of history and culture and the strengthening of locality are important for waterfront areas to regenerate a city. Fourthly, waterfront areas should be a human-friendly space for easy access and public use. |
