This study is on establishing the direction for concrete management and improvement through relationship between physical elements and composition principle of urban landscape(a distant view) from the viewpoint of increasing effects of urban image and ensuring competitiveness of local cities with old downtown in Yeosu where is the venue of the 2010 Expo Yeosu Korea and has the different regional identity from cities in metropolitan area. As a result of the research, it was found that there were two routes affecting the total satisfaction of urban landscape(a distant view); one include directly affecting parameter like unity and indirectly affecting parameters like variety and aesthetics, and the other is directly affecting parameter like comfort and indirectly affecting parameters such as aesthetics and openness. Components related to composition principle included scale and density of buildings. These results suggest that for improving satisfaction of landscape at surveyed areas, harmony of scales between old and new structures and management and improvement of density of old structures should be considered. |
