Abstract The goals of this study are to inquire into issues by classifying traffic square into three functions, evaluate traffic square from travel aspect of the underprivileged in traffic in order to assess traffic square from access, travel, and use standpoints of disabled people and senior citizens and suggest improvements of non-obstacle traffic square. The followings are the results of this study. ① For smooth travels among transportations appropriate for region where traffic square is located such as subway↔ railway↔highway, cross-country bus↔taxi↔passenger car↔bicycle, continuity of travel routes has to be secured. Also, guidance information user is able to use easily for unaccustomed roads has to be provided. ② As most of stations structures are located on underground or the ground, required to travel vertically to access into traffic square. Thus, in order to secure the rights of travel, vertical travel facility has to be installed. ③ Installation regulations on traffic square has to be provided on『Travel Convenience Promotion Law for the underprivileged of traffic』. The law provides provisions on travels facilities and roads within traffic facilities, but the law lacks in continuity as they are provided as one facility interrupted with each other. Thus, a clause on installation regulations for traffic square as a link between travel facilities and roads has to be added to the law.
