Abstract |
The purpose of this research is to investigate how Jinhae's city facilities have reacted and evolved according to the changes in the city's configuration since the era of Japanese Imperialism, from the perspective of space syntax. The following is the list of observations that we made by the investigation. First, city facilities are spreading from the old town of the city to the overall parts including the new town as the city expands in space. Second, the city facilities are decreasingly ordered as Commercial Facilities, Transportation Facilities, Public Facilities, and Cultural Facilities, according to the degree of global integration. Third, the local integration is formed into three areas in the whole city as the city expands. The city facilities are located according to the accessability within these three areas. Fourth, in terms of the intelligibility of the Urban Spatial Configuration, the coefficient of correlation between global integration and local integration is observed very high. |
