Abstract |
Structural characteristics of spatial structure are different from that of rahmen structures and it has a lot of factors that are unpredictable. It is necessary to consider both horizontal and vertical responses for seismic vibration because of dynamic characteristics of spatial structures. On this study, shaking table tests of arch structures is conducted for evaluation of seismic response according to various column stiffnesses through scale-down model of arch structure that has the basic dynamic characteristics of spatial structure. This scale-down model on the shaking table is subjected to scaled down earthquake load. As results of this study, though remarkable response is not occurred in horizontal direction in the region of higher frequency than the region that seismic energy is concentrated, relatively large response is occurred in vertical direction. It is proved that seismic response of arch structure with column is varied according to stiffness of columns. |
