Abstract The research has been classified with 9 different type of categories in succession of 23 detailed specifications through by using a field study and various kinds of materials so as to figure out the main successful factors of the 4 festivals such as callled "Gangjin Celadon Culture Festival" were entered into the best ones of the Culture & Tourism Festival with a prerequisite for the traditional celebration, tourism specialties, Cultural Art Celebration by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2008. And then, according to the result of analysis on the compliance degree of detailed elements that can be applied in common to the festivals, one festival showed high degree of compliance and the rest three showed insufficient or non compliance. This study utilized the success elements by benchmarking for each festival, and suggested the measurements for revitalization of 4 festivals in consideration of the elements in insufficient or non compliance. Since the comprehensive assessment report for culture & tourism festivals is an assessment for operational status of festivals though the conventional qualitative assessment elements, it is more of short-term and microscopic character. On the contrary, 9 elements(23 sub-elements) of success in culture & tourism festivals are approaching from long-term and macroscopic position. Therefore, to promote the continuous growth and development of festivals, it shall be necessary to combine the existing microscopic assessment elements and new macroscopic assessment elements.
