Abstract This study aimed at framing alternative urban planning scenarios reflecting urban planning factors, performing urban climate simulation and evaluating eco-friendly and low energy characteristics of each scenario on the viewpoint of urban temperature and energy savings on the costal city including Haeundae District in Busan. The results are as follows. 1)The fact that urban higher temperature is approximately 2.5 times higher in the building constructed area than whole urban area was represented severe higher temperature phenomenon in the built-up area. While water scenario, ground greening, and soil scenario could be expected peek air temperature alleviating effect in order, air-conditioning temperature control scenario didn't affect alleviating urban higher temperature. Especially water scenario had significant effect(maximum 2.5℃) on lowering air temperature. 2)Building greening and water scenario were turned to be positive effect on urban air-conditioning energy savings but air-conditioning temperature control scenario showed linear increase of air-conditioning energy. This fact implies that building greening and water covered area constitutions had positive effect on urban energy savings but inducing air-conditioning load decrease through energy savings countermeasures can be an significant effect on energy savings. 3)Lower air temperature and energy savings characteristics could be classified with ①greening scenario for energy savings scenario, ②ground greening scenario, water scenario, and soil scenario for lower air temperature and energy savings scenario, and ③air-conditioning temperature setting scenario for energy increase scenario.
