Abstract Urban redevelopment project was aimed for recovery, and it was mainly concentrated in adjusting small plots, narrow roads, and unequal pieces of land. Ever since the first urban redevelopment project in 1970s, more than half of the whole sectors are finished or in progress and downtown improved a lot compared with that of the past. Now, urban redevelopment project is facing the new situation. Not only unoperated districts, but also old completed-districts are causing problems because worn-out structures of those are now behind of fashion and they lack harmony with other adjoined districts. To redevelop redevelopment-completed districts swiftly, urban-design approach to changing paradigm and revitalization of project in unoperated-districts are crucial. Also, through revision to the laws including balance of redeveloping sectors and various infrastructure, we have to operate redevelopment project flexibly, which will make us contribute to specialized urban management plan.
