Abstract An effective method to decrease aircraft noise is to improve the sound insulation performance in the building. In order to improve the sound insulation performance of a building through the installation of better sound insulation materials, the sound insulation performance of the existing building must be accurately evaluated. In this study, the soundproofing facilities requirement for establishment and the measuring method were considered as a base research for the preparation for the method of measuring the building sound insulation performance. The sound insulation performance measurement results of the house were compared by three rating values(Dls,2m,nT,W ; Dat,E2m,nT,W ; ANR(Aircraft Noise Reduction)). The measurement was divided by the first test and second test. In first test were done nine house and second measurements were executed for six house. It was clarified that the linear correlation existed among the three measuring methods, and the coefficient of determination(R2) between Dls,2m,nT,W and Dat,E2m,nT,W appeared especially by 0.86 and 0.65 in living room. The coefficient of determination (R2=0.88) between Dat,E2m,nT,W and ANR is the highest in master bedroom. It appeared by 0.79 that the coefficient of determination between Dls,2m,nT,W and Dat,E2m,nT,W is the highest as all the result of a measurements.
