Abstract The advantages of void slab were the reduction of self weight, the using void for piping work and the insulation of sound. The using of polystyrene form on flat plate could mix both advantages void slab and flat plate. But the capacity of punching shear resistance on the slab using the polystyrene form with flat plate system was deteriorated at critical section around the column. And the critical section area was varied as the column size and the arrangement of forms. For understanding an effect of void form for punching shear behavior and indicating a fundamental data for design guideline of void flat plate system, this study performed the 3-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis with ABAQUS. We compared the result from FEA to test and performed the additional variable analysis. From the FEA results, the cracks and load-displacement relationship was analyzed, and the necessity of the estimation for new critical punching shear section was proposed.
