Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to suggest a modelling technique of beam-to-column connections of steel frames using SN490 and to investigate the effect of structural behavior of the ten different types of connections. The specimens are composed of different types of shear tap, fastener, scallop and reduced beam section. In order to verify the reliability, structural behavior of the specimens subjected to yielding and ultimate load is compared with experimental test and nonlinear finite element analysis considering geometry and material. The nonlinear finite element modelling technique also can be used to predict the behavior of beam-to-column connections of steel frames. |
