Abstract Recently, taking a new job is very more difficult, in Korea. However, many new employees, who overcome these difficulties of getting a job, were quickly resigning. In construction industry, the ratio of turnover is specially higher and human resource is more important than other industries. Therefore, the object of this study is to propose the methods for decreasing the turnover intention of new employees in building construction areas. The results show that ‘overloading work’, ‘salary’, ‘stability of job’, and ‘competitiveness of getting a new job’ affects the turnover intention. Based on the results, for decreasing the turnover intention of new employees, the solutions such as construction companies’education for new employees with the vision of development and a secure employment, actually improving new employees' multi-working ability for shorter working time, and a new assessment method more weighted humanity rather than specifications for employing new employees is proposed. Decreasing the turnover intention will reduce the cost of construction companies for employing new employees, and it will help the improving the performance by keeping the field organizations.
