Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and analyze the architectural publicness of the residents' center. In this paper, the public space of the residents' center is considered one of the basic and important carriers which realize the architectural publicness. Assuming architecture should keep organic relationship with the city, this paper is to search a starting point to analyze the architectural publicness. The permeability and porosity concepts were chosen to represent the publicness and from these concepts, 4 elements of analysis such as easiness of access, recognition of space, spatial use and size, and affordability to rest area are drawn. These 4 elements can be again analyzed according to physical aspects and utilizational aspects of publicness through 43 items. With these considerations, 10 residents' centers in Ulsan urban area were finally chosen to study and the result data were interpreted by correlation analysis through SPSS 15.0 version. |
