Abstract |
The process of architectural design could be regarded as the process of place-making because the value of building is judged by its users. The human-figured digital agent and virtual place have provided the technological foundation for the simulation for place-making and there have been a lot of human behavior simulation research based on them so far. However, these research are limited for the exact observation and simulation of social phenomenon between people and space because most of them only have considered single aspect of spatial information that is syntactic and useful in cases like evacuation simulation. To overcome the limitation of current social simulation research and realize the prediction and analysis of social behavior of user in the designed environment, we need to consider the spatial information deeply and make them well-structured digital model. In this manner, the authors intend to develop a intelligent virtual environment supporting intelligent character which perform autonomous behavior to virtual environment. To realize it, we propose a cognitive environment based on the characteristics of syntactic and semantic spatial information. In the end of paper, a prototype system is presented demonstrating this idea. |
