Abstract In this paper, the purpose is to confirm the dynamic Response characteristics of the base-isolated structure for shake table test and the validity of the envelope design method. For the purpose, this research was conducted in three different stages. First, a isolator(Rubber-Metal Laminated Bearing) and a damper(U-shape Steel Damper using SS400 or HTS) were designed based on the envelope design method which were applied to the two-story steel frame specimen. Second, the isolator and the damper were tested to confirm the shear-performances of them. And then, the analytical parameters of nonlinear time history analysis were set up based on the results of shear tests. Lastly, nonlinear time history analysis were conducted. As the result of the study, the high performances of the seismic isolation system and the validity of the envelope design method were confirmed.
