Abstract Recently, urban construction structures have been skyrocketing to overcome the shortage of available land for residence. So the demand for ultra high strength concrete has also increased. Producing ultra high strength concrete is heavily affected by mixing and dispersing high blaine admixture. But the effect has not been fully examined. Therefore, this study assessed the flow characteristics of cement pastes in different types of admixture, different types of silica fume and mixing method status as basic experiments for making ultra-high strength concrete. As for the types of admixture, blast-furnace slag was better than fly ash. As for the types of silica fume, A or B was better than C. And it was found that pre mix was better than separate mix. In addition, the comparison of paste flow characteristics among different study factors and the relation among flow measuring equipment posted relatively high correlation of straight proportional line. And the deviation between experiment tools was very little, and it was found that the ring flow test was most efficient method considering the efficiency of experiment volume.
