Abstract The modern Korean traditional houses have been changed and altered by the present life style and pattern. And so, the six items(①connection and enlarging of rooms, ②installation of storage space, ③standup kitchen and its alteration, ④alteration and installation of toilet, ⑤installation of utility room, ⑥insulations and ventilation) have been established through the survey of Korean traditional houses. Questionnaire survey was made to architects who have experienced cultural properties repair design. The results are as follows, the priority of six items by the change and alteration was defined as alteration of kitchen(③)and toilet(④), insulations and ventilation(⑥) in the order. On the other hand, installation of storage space(②) and utility rooms(⑤), which did not exist, are not to be installed for conservation. This will help preparing alteration manuals and further convenient for using the modern Korean traditional house as national cultural properties.
