Abstract |
This study starts with the criticism of architectural drawing conventions with the name of 'net-frame', which is a priori spatial system ruling the drawing paper before drawing. The aim is to suggest alternative ways of drawing, which can express various temporal qualities of architecture, adopting the concepts of 'framing' and 'deframing'. The study critically examines Heidegger's idea of 'frame' and Deleuzian idea of 'framing-deframing' as well as some art works with these issues. A series of drawing experiment, called 'Drawing my office', is also conducted and presented to support the arguments of this study. The drawing argued here is a representation and a design at the same time since it keeps generating the new out of the given. |
