Abstract |
Recently, the usage of stainless steel in buildings and civil structures has been increased gradually with the global need for sustainability in structures for the reduction of green house gas emission, which is suspected to be the cause of global warming. Especially, this paper is aiming at investigating the ultimate behaviors such as ultimate strength and fracture mode of single shear bolted connection of thin-walled austenitic stainless steel. Bolt arrangement, plate thickness and end distance parallel to the loading direction are considered as main variables. The curling also occurs in the connections with a long end distance and edge distance as the previous researches. Due to curling, fracture modes of connections with same bolt arrangement and end distance are different and ultimate strength reduction is caused. Moreover, development of curling and change of strain value are investigated with the increase of enforced displacement. |
