Abstract Socially-integrated housing will be able to connect social severance, integrating multi-culture, different age groups, handicap barrier, as a futuristic housing model. Multiple dwelling housing will provide for residents to develop community spirit and to facilitate positive autonomy by supplying ample communal space. This work was focused on common space for the establishment of socially-integrated housing and analyzed the design elements and planning method of common space. Information about the concrete use of common space in multiple dwelling housing will facilitate the planning of socially-integrated housing preceding spontaneous gathering and communication within neighborhood. Consequently, for the forms of socially-integrated housing, the design elements of common space consist of openness, connection, enclosure, unity as the view of space use, and ordinary, approach, amenity as the view of space composition.
