Abstract This paper is research on interchange in social different position in traditional dwelling. In general, the study in traditional dwelling has focused on the locality, the local peculiarity of housing architecture, and the contents of acculturation. The paper will show the appearance of eclectic housing pattern between High-class Houses and Folk-Houses caused by interchange in social different position in the era of Chosun dynasty. The area of study is the Coexistence-Area of "Ddeul Jib," a type of High-class Houses, and "Yokhan Jib," a type of Folk-Houses, located in the northern area of Kyung Sang Buk-do and the southern area of Kang Won-do. High-class Houses accepted the practicality of Folk-Houses and these accepted of diginity of those. This is not a consequence of unilateral development but a consequence of acculturation among the members of the society who tried to adapt merits each has.
