Abstract Structural elements have been developing toward a higher strength in order to satisfy the requirement for high buildings. In particular the composite elements such as concrete filled steel tubes for column and concrete filled on the H-section for beam are the representative examples. The two elements were usually applied onto the high buildings as a major structural elements but it was not well known how the two elements showed the structural behavior at high temperature condition. To suggest the relationship between the load amount at two composite structural types and the fire resistance, the load-bearing fire tests were conducted. For a composite steel column, the limit temperature according to load ratios were shown clearly among the applied load ratio and the fire resistance were very low level. For a composite beam, the limit temperature according to load ratios were not clearly but the fire resistance showed almost 3 hours.
