Abstract |
Underground parking lots take up large portion of area within shared housing compound, affecting other facilities significantly and closely involving with the satisfaction of space utilization within the compound, but nevertheless, since the lots are not permanently residing space, they tend to be neglected compared wit other space. Also, as they are situated in relatively poor environmental conditions compared with above ground space, underground parking lots are liable to be subject to physical, psychological problems like long distance from main building, vehicle damage, fear of crime, turbid air, darkness and sense of isolation etc. Therefore, this study's objective is to propose the directions of improvement and plan for underground environment within shared housing compounds constructed later on through survey of underground parking lots usage status and residents consciousness on residents of apartment complexes that are introducing underground parking lots as shared housing compounds that are located in the metro city of Gwangju and completed construction since 2000s. |
