Abstract There have been several investigations in the past on the influence of mixture composition on the properties of aerated concrete. This paper discusses the relation of empirical models for compressive strength-apparent density and flexural strength-apparent density of aerated concrete through statistically designed experiments. The response surface plots helps in visually analysing the influence of factors on the responses. The relative influence of fly ash replacement, water-binder ratio and hydrogen peroxide-binder ratio on strength and density of aerated concrete is studied by comparing it with main effect plot. The mutual influence of fly ash replacement, water-binder ratio and hydrogen peroxide-binder ratio on strength and density of aerated concrete is studied by comparing it with interaction plot. Specific strength of aerated concrete is higher in 0% and 35% of fly ash replacement.
