| Abstract |
Nursing home(NH) is where the elderly with chronic disease stays at all times. The environment should be well managed so that the elderly feel safe and comfort. Also, The number of nursing homes increased which put emphasis on administration aspect, and the effort to cut down the cost of the environment/ facility management is needed. the purpose of this study is to grasp the current situation of nursing home environment facility management, so that proposals for future nursing homes would be suggested. The research method is consist of literature review and interview. Facility managers from 5 nursing homes located in Seoul and Inchon were interviewed by researcher with structured questionnaire, to find the current condition, problems and opinion. As a conclusion, from the analysis of result, (1)The usage of material that is easy to maintain and safe, (2)Sustainable garden, (3)Consideration of HVAC running cost and enhancement of building's thermal performance, (4)Connection between NH facilities to cut down outsourcing expenses and the need of specialized facility management firm, (5)the formation of facility complex were suggested. |
